Rawalpindi, April 28, 2025: Pakistani security forces killed 17 more terrorists during a sanitization operation along the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), announced on Monday.
The latest operation was carried out overnight in the Hassan Khel area, following the earlier elimination of 54 terrorists between April 25 and 27 during successful engagements against infiltration attempts.
According to ISPR, the terrorists were operating under the direction of “foreign masters,” and security forces recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the slain militants, referred to as “khawarij” (outlaws).
The total number of terrorists killed during the three-day anti-infiltration operations has now risen to 71.
“Security forces remain resolute in securing the nation’s frontiers and are determined to thwart all attempts to sabotage Pakistan’s peace, stability, and progress,” the ISPR statement emphasized.
Earlier, Pakistani troops had foiled a major infiltration attempt when groups of militants tried to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border during the nights of April 25–26 and April 26–27 in the Hassan Khel region. Security forces, maintaining high vigilance, swiftly engaged and neutralized all 54 militants after intense firefights.
ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding demand for effective border management from the Afghan side, urging the interim Afghan government to prevent the use of its soil for terrorism against Pakistan.
The spokesperson further stated, “Pakistan’s security forces remain fully prepared to defend the borders and eradicate terrorism at any cost.”
In a pointed remark, ISPR noted that at a time when India is leveling “baseless accusations” against Pakistan, the militants’ activities “clearly indicate whose agenda they are serving.”
“Such actions are a betrayal of the state and its people,” the statement added.
ISPR praised the professionalism, vigilance, and readiness of Pakistan’s security forces, noting that the recent operation marks the highest number of militants killed in a single action during the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.
