Islamabad, April 29, 2025: The Pakistan Army on Tuesday shot down two Indian surveillance quadcopters in separate incidents along the Line of Control (LoC), highlighting escalating ceasefire violations and provocative tactics by Indian forces, according to security sources.

The first drone was intercepted in the Manawar sector of Bhimber district, reportedly operated by India’s 5 Assam Regiment. Hours later, a second Indian quadcopter was brought down in the Satwal sector as it attempted to carry out reconnaissance within Pakistani territory.

Defense experts have condemned the repeated drone incursions, warning that such actions are deliberate provocations intended to destabilize the already fragile peace along the LoC.

“These are not random or accidental incursions. They reflect a strategic pattern of Indian aggression meant to inflame tensions, particularly during a politically sensitive period across the border,” said a senior defense analyst.

The swift and effective action by the Pakistan Army has been widely praised as evidence of its operational vigilance and readiness.

“This decisive response underscores our military’s commitment to defending national sovereignty,” a defense official stated. “While Pakistan remains a proponent of regional peace, any violation of our airspace will be met with a swift and proportionate response.”

These incidents follow closely on the heels of Pakistan’s firm rejection of Indian allegations regarding the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which killed 26 civilians. Prominent political and defense voices in Pakistan, including analyst Najam Sethi, have labeled the Pahalgam incident a “false flag operation” intended to shape domestic opinion ahead of India’s upcoming elections.

Earlier in the day, military officials confirmed the downing of the first drone in Manawar, stating that it was conducting surveillance operations when Pakistani troops intercepted and neutralized it.

“The timely response by our forces thwarted the enemy’s hostile reconnaissance attempt,” said one official, emphasizing that the episode was yet another testament to the Pakistan Army’s professionalism, preparedness, and resolve in defending its borders.
