Lahore, May 1, 2025: Inclement weather forced the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 clash between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators to be abandoned on Thursday, denying both sides a chance to break Islamabad United’s grip on the top spot in the points table.

The match at Gaddafi Stadium was cut short after a severe dust storm swept through the venue, followed by light but persistent rain. The game was officially called off after multiple delays, with both teams sharing a point each.

The outcome leaves Qalandars and Gladiators locked at nine points apiece, maintaining their positions at second and third in the standings, respectively. Qalandars will next face Karachi Kings on Sunday, while Gladiators are scheduled to take on defending champions Islamabad United on Saturday.

Batting first, Lahore Qalandars was 111/3 in 11.3 overs when play was halted. They had a rocky start as Fakhar Zaman was bowled out for a duck by Khurram Shahzad on just the third ball of the match.

However, Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Naeem mounted an impressive comeback, stitching together a 102-run partnership for the second wicket. Naeem scored a brisk 50 off 30 deliveries, including three fours and four sixes, before being dismissed by Abrar Ahmed.

Abrar struck again in his next over, removing Daryl Mitchell for just three, as the Qalandars reached 111 before the dust storm halted proceedings. Abdullah Shafique remained not out on 53 off 32 balls, smashing three fours and three sixes.

For Quetta Gladiators, Abrar Ahmed was the standout bowler with 2 for 25, while Shahzad claimed one wicket early in the innings.
