Islamabad, May 5, 2025: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, led a media delegation comprising both local and international journalists to the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday, aiming to expose what he termed as baseless Indian allegations about the presence of terrorist infrastructure on Pakistani soil.
The visit, organized by the Ministry of Information and facilitated by the Pakistan military, was intended to provide the media with firsthand access to sites often cited in Indian statements as alleged militant camps. Contrary to New Delhi’s claims, reporters found thriving civilian communities—complete with homes, shops, and public amenities—rather than any evidence of militant activity.
Residents interacted with journalists during the visit, offering testimonies that directly contradicted Indian narratives.
Speaking at the site, Minister Tarar said, “India has repeatedly made unfounded allegations against Pakistan. Today, we have presented the truth to both local and foreign media. The locations India claims to be terrorist camps are, in fact, peaceful civilian settlements.”
Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, Tarar emphasized the country’s commitment to peace and counterterrorism.
“Pakistan is a responsible nation dedicated to promoting peace, both regionally and globally. We reject and condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”
However, the minister issued a strong warning against any misadventure, “While Pakistan seeks peace, any violation of its sovereignty will be met with a firm and decisive response. India must first confront its own record of human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) before pointing fingers at others.”
He also accused India of using LoC-related propaganda to distract from its internal failures and the ongoing repression in IIOJK.
“This misinformation campaign is nothing more than a smokescreen to cover up the unrest and rights violations in occupied Kashmir. Today, the global media has seen the reality with their own eyes.”
Earlier, during an in-camera session organized by the government, senior political leaders were briefed on the escalating situation following the April 22 Pahalgam attack. According to sources, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry and Minister Atta Tarar assured participants that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully prepared to respond to any aggression.
