Islamabad, May 7, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued a stern warning to India on Wednesday, vowing that every drop of blood shed in the Indian missile strikes will be avenged, and declaring that the aggressor “will have to suffer the consequences.”

In a televised address to the nation following Pakistan’s retaliatory action, the Prime Minister condemned India’s recent airstrikes, which reportedly killed 26 civilians and injured 46 others, including women and children. He said that Pakistan had proposed an impartial international investigation into the April 22 Pahalgam attack, but India rejected the offer and instead violated Pakistani airspace with missile strikes.

“They assumed we would retreat. They forgot this is a nation of the brave,” the Prime Minister asserted.

Shehbaz Sharif praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for what he called a swift and surgical retaliation to Indian aggression.

“With the grace of God, our jets created such a storm in the skies that the enemy screamed. Our military has once again demonstrated its conventional superiority over the enemy.”

He further emphasized that the entire nation stood united behind the Army, Navy, and Air Force, commending their joint response as a symbol of national resolve.

Referring to the funeral of seven-year-old Irtaza Abbas Turi, who was among the victims of the Indian strikes, the Prime Minister said the pain of such loss would not go unanswered.

“This cowardly enemy targets innocent civilians and boasts about its might. But last night, Pakistan proved that it knows how to respond with precision and force.”

In a follow-up statement issued later in the day, PM Shehbaz claimed that five Indian warplanes, including Rafale jets, had been shot down within hours of the attacks.

“The very jets India once paraded with pride are now reduced to ash and rubble,” he declared.

The Prime Minister’s address comes amid rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors and follows a wave of military and diplomatic escalations.
