Rawalpindi, May 25, 2025: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, on Sunday accused India of using Afghan territory to launch terrorist activities against Pakistan, and urged the Afghan leadership and people not to serve as tools for foreign agendas, especially those that harm regional peace.
The army spokesperson made these remarks while addressing a large gathering of over 2,500 university students from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during a special interactive session.
Lt Gen Chaudhry emphasized that Afghanistan is a brotherly Islamic country, but pointed out that the issue lies with certain Afghan elites, who, he said, have been bought off by India to destabilize Pakistan. “India is using Afghanistan to execute its malicious designs against Pakistan. We urge our Afghan brothers not to give sanctuary to terrorists and not to become instruments of Indian policy,” he asserted.
Highlighting Pakistan’s recent response to Indian provocations, the ISPR DG said, “India believed it could carry out aggression without facing retaliation. But you all witnessed how the entire nation stood united. By the will of Allah, we formed a wall of iron that shattered India’s flawed strategies.”
He added that the Pakistani military responded by targeting 26 locations across the border, including those responsible for an attack that killed a young child, seven-year-old Irtiza, in Muzaffarabad. “We avenged the loss by destroying their brigade headquarters,” Lt Gen Chaudhry declared.
The ISPR chief reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering stance on the Kashmir issue, stating, “The time has come for Kashmir to become part of Pakistan.” He criticized India for its human rights violations in the region, emphasizing that “truth and falsehood cannot coexist,” and underscored the nation’s solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian-occupied Kashmir.
Addressing concerns about civil-military relations, Lt Gen Chaudhry dismissed any notion of disconnect between the armed forces and the people. “Some believed there was a divide between the army and the nation — that is absolutely incorrect. The army and the people have always stood shoulder to shoulder and will continue to do so.”
The interaction concluded with students expressing strong support for the armed forces and Pakistan’s stance on national security and regional integrity.
