England vs West Indies 3rd ODI: toss delayed due to unusual circumstance

London, June 3, 2025: The third One Day International (ODI) between England and West Indies at the Kennington Oval witnessed an unusual start, as the toss was unexpectedly delayed, not due to weather, but because of a traffic jam.

With England already leading the series 2-0, the hosts arrived at the venue on schedule. However, according to Sky Sports, the West Indies team was held up en route to the stadium, their team bus stuck in heavy London traffic, a frustrating but all-too-common occurrence in the capital. This unforeseen delay pushed back the scheduled toss.

Interestingly, there had been a light spell of rain earlier in the day, and the square was fully covered, leading fans to assume weather was the culprit. But it was soon revealed that the actual reason was the delayed arrival of the visiting side.

England has dominated the series so far, a crushing victory in the first match followed by a hard-fought win in the second, thanks to a match-winning knock from Joe Root. Today’s fixture marks Harry Brook’s third outing as full-time ODI captain, with a whitewash on the cards. Meanwhile, the West Indies will be desperate to avoid a clean sweep and restore some pride.
