Bilawal urges U.S. to ‘drag India by the ear’ to negotiating table

London, June 11, 2025: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has urged the United States to leverage its global influence to bring India back to the negotiating table with Pakistan — even if it means, in his words, “dragging them by the ear.”

Addressing a press conference in London alongside a parliamentary delegation, the former foreign minister underscored that peace between Pakistan and India is essential not only for regional harmony but also for global stability.

“President Trump himself acknowledged that dialogue on Kashmir is necessary,” Bilawal said. “If America must pressure India into negotiations for the greater good, then they should not hesitate.”

Bhutto criticized India’s consistent refusal to engage in talks, despite Pakistan’s repeated diplomatic overtures and calls for evidence over terrorism allegations.

“India knows there is no Pakistani link to terrorism,” he asserted. “Their repeated efforts to frame us have failed.”

He reiterated Pakistan’s position that all unresolved issues — including Kashmir, terrorism, and water disputes — must be addressed through constructive dialogue.

The PPP chairman also condemned what he described as a “systematic campaign of suppression” by India against its Sikh population and accused New Delhi of sponsoring terrorist activity within Pakistan. He demanded an end to India’s “state-sponsored terrorism,” both regionally and abroad.

Referring to Indian threats to restrict Pakistan’s access to water, Bilawal labeled such rhetoric as a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Bilawal commended Pakistan’s military leadership and recent strategic accomplishments, highlighting the promotion of General Asim Munir to Field Marshal as a recognition of his leadership.

“Pakistan may be a smaller nation, but we have continually demonstrated resilience and the capacity to defend ourselves. General Munir’s promotion reflects that strength,” he said.

The remarks are part of a wider diplomatic campaign led by Bilawal and a high-level delegation aiming to strengthen Pakistan’s global position amid rising tensions with India. After earlier visits to New York and Washington, the delegation is currently in London and will next head to Brussels. “Our mission is clear: to present Pakistan’s case to the world and raise awareness about the consequences of Indian intransigence,” Bilawal concluded.
