Lahore, June 13, 2025: The romantic comedy ‘Love Guru’, released over the Eid-ul-Adha weekend, has set a new benchmark at the box office, overtaking the record-breaking ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ in opening weekend earnings. The film has received an overwhelmingly positive response from both domestic and international audiences, with fans especially praising the on-screen chemistry between Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of London, Love Guru features Mahira Khan in the role of a bold, arts-loving young woman, while Humayun Saeed portrays a flirtatious character navigating the ups and downs of romance. Their performances, coupled with a fresh storyline and relatable humor, have struck a chord with moviegoers.

Directed by Nadeem Baig and penned by Vasay Chaudhry, the film was released under the ARY Films banner. It skillfully blends romance and comedy, enriched by witty Pashto and Punjabi dialogues, which have added an extra layer of cultural flavor and mass appeal.

In its opening weekend, Love Guru earned an impressive PKR 12 crore, edging past The Legend of Maula Jatt, which had made PKR 11 crore in the same timeframe. The film’s success signals a promising revival for the Pakistani film industry and a growing audience appetite for light-hearted, feel-good cinema.

Producers report that Love Guru has grossed PKR 28 crore globally to date — PKR 13 crore from Pakistan and PKR 15 crore from overseas markets. The film’s strong box office performance highlights the commercial viability of romantic comedies and reaffirms the star power of its leading duo.
