Islamabad, June 13, 2025: In a strong display of unity, both the Senate and National Assembly of Pakistan unanimously passed a resolution on Friday condemning Israel’s recent military strikes on Iran, declaring the attack a clear violation of international law and United Nations conventions.

The resolution, tabled by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, described the Israeli airstrikes as “war crimes” that threaten to destabilize an already volatile region. Dar emphasized that such acts of aggression not only breach Iran’s sovereignty but also endanger global peace and security.

Separately, President Asif Ali Zardari issued a strong condemnation of what he called a “blatant act of aggression,” stating that the attack violated both Iran’s territorial integrity and the principles enshrined in the UN Charter.

Expressing deep sympathy with the people of Iran over the loss of life, President Zardari urged the United Nations and the broader international community to hold Israel accountable. He called for immediate diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent further bloodshed.

The parliamentary resolution follows Pakistan’s earlier official condemnation, which described the strikes as “unjustified and illegitimate.” The Foreign Office reiterated that Iran, as a sovereign nation, has the inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

The Israeli airstrikes, which reportedly killed several senior Iranian military officials, have sparked widespread outrage across the Muslim world and heightened fears of a broader regional conflict. Iran has vowed a strong response, raising concerns of further escalation in the Middle East.
