Quetta, June 17, 2025: In a landmark development, the Government of Balochistan on Tuesday presented its largest-ever budget, totaling Rs 1,028 billion, with a Rs 42 billion surplus—marking the first time the province has tabled a budget exceeding the one-trillion-rupee mark.

The budget was presented by Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shuaib Noshirovani during a session of the Balochistan Assembly, chaired by Speaker Abdul Khaliq Achakzai.

In his address, Minister Noshirovani stated that the provincial government had successfully utilized the entire development budget for the ongoing fiscal year—a notable achievement. He outlined sectoral accomplishments, emphasizing the administration’s focus on sustainable and inclusive development.

“This budget is not only historic in size but also reflective of a new direction for Balochistan—where fiscal responsibility and development go hand in hand,” he said.

The finance minister also emphasized that the budget reflects the province’s commitment to fiscal discipline, development transparency, and efficient resource allocation.

Earlier this month, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti had assured that the provincial budget would prioritize health, education, and essential services, firmly rejecting the inclusion of politically motivated development schemes. He reaffirmed that the government would work toward addressing genuine public needs, especially in underserved areas.

“The era of patronage politics is over. Every area and citizen of Balochistan will be treated equally,” Bugti stated, adding that recommendations from the parliamentary committee had been incorporated to ensure broad-based consensus and relevance.

He also reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy for corruption, particularly in the allocation and disbursement of development funds.

Meanwhile, government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed that the budget aims to foster economic growth and social progress, especially in underdeveloped regions, as part of a broader effort to uplift marginalized communities.

With this record-setting budget, the province hopes to chart a new course toward long-term stability, equity, and prosperity, laying the foundation for meaningful transformation in the years ahead.
