Lahore, June 23, 2025: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday reserved its judgment on bail petitions filed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan in eight cases related to the violent protests of May 9, 2023.

The matter was heard by a two-member bench headed by Justice Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, with legal representatives from all relevant parties present in court. Imran Khan, founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), had approached the court seeking pre-arrest bail in multiple cases registered against him in connection with attacks on state and military installations following his brief detention last year.

After hearing arguments from both the defence and prosecution, the bench reserved its verdict, which will be announced at a later date.

The May 9 incidents sparked widespread unrest across the country, leading to dozens of cases being filed against PTI leaders and supporters. The party leadership has consistently denied orchestrating the violence, alleging political victimization.

Imran Khan remains entangled in a series of legal battles nationwide, with the outcome of these cases seen as critical to his political future and PTI’s broader standing.
