Manama, June 23, 2025: In a commanding performance, Pakistan outclassed Qatar in straight sets to secure a place in the final of the AVC Men’s Volleyball Nations Cup 2025, currently underway in Bahrain. The 3-0 victory was a repeat of last year’s showdown, but this time, Pakistan left no room for doubt as they dominated the semifinal clash.
From the outset, Pakistan took control of the match, setting the pace with aggressive serves and powerful spikes. Their precision and energy overwhelmed the Qatari side, allowing Pakistan to clinch the opening set 25-18. The Green Shirts’ disciplined blocking and sharp offensive coordination made a clear statement of their intent.
Qatar attempted to mount a comeback in the second set, tightening their defense and seeking to disrupt Pakistan’s rhythm. However, the Pakistani side remained focused, displaying superior court awareness and flawless teamwork. With key players delivering under pressure, they secured the second set 25-20.
In the third and final set, Pakistan’s dominance intensified. Their fluid transitions between attack and defense, combined with strategic play-calling, left Qatar struggling to keep pace. The set ended 25-15 in Pakistan’s favor, sealing a comprehensive and well-earned victory.
With this win, Pakistan has advanced to the final, where they will face the winner of the second semi-final between hosts Bahrain and South Korea. That match is scheduled for later tonight. The final is set to be played on Tuesday, June 24.
This marks Pakistan’s second appearance in the final of the AVC Nations Cup. Bahrain has previously reached the final once, while South Korea would be making their debut final appearance should they advance.
Pakistan’s dominant performance against a traditionally strong Qatari side underscores their growing stature in Asian volleyball and their determination to clinch the title.
