Muzaffargarh, July 5, 2025: At least six people, including women and children, lost their lives and 18 others sustained injuries in a tragic collision between a passenger bus and a trailer near the Langar Sarai area of Muzaffargarh on Saturday, rescue officials confirmed.

The passenger bus was en route to Lahore from Alipur when it collided with the trailer under circumstances that are now under investigation. The impact of the crash claimed six lives on the spot, while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital by Rescue 1122 teams.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to carry out rescue operations and shift the deceased and injured to the hospital for medico-legal formalities. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that negligence or poor road conditions may have played a role.

Road accidents remain alarmingly frequent in Pakistan, often attributed to speeding, reckless driving, poor vehicle maintenance, and inadequate road infrastructure.
