Rawalpindi, July 20, 2025: Security forces have successfully neutralized nine militants affiliated with the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij during a four-day intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Sunday.
Conducted between July 16 and 20, the operation was carried out in close coordination with police, Levies, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and the district administration. The campaign involved intense firefights and tactical manoeuvres that led to the elimination of nine terrorists and the arrest of eight others.
According to ISPR, two militant hideouts were destroyed during the operation, and a significant cache of weapons, explosives, and ammunition was recovered. A comprehensive sanitisation operation is currently underway to ensure that no remaining threats persist in the area.
Local residents reportedly welcomed the operation and expressed support for the security forces, reaffirming public confidence in ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
