New York, July 21, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar is set to have a packed schedule in New York today as part of his ongoing diplomatic visit to the United States.

Senator Dar will represent Pakistan at the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) during its ministerial segment, where he is expected to deliver a national statement outlining Pakistan’s priorities and progress on sustainable development goals (SDGs).

As part of his engagements at the United Nations, the Deputy Prime Minister will also meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the President of the UN General Assembly, to discuss matters of mutual interest and global cooperation.

Additionally, Senator Dar will attend a high-profile signing ceremony for the Agreement on the Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement) — a landmark global initiative aimed at marine conservation and sustainable ocean governance.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister is currently on a week-long visit to the United States to lead key events at the UN Security Council, where Pakistan holds the rotating presidency for the month of July.
