London, August 1, 2025: In a landmark celebration of humanitarian leadership and community service, British Asian entrepreneur and philanthropist Atta Ul Haq was officially appointed Brand Ambassador of the internationally acclaimed 10 Million Meal Project during an inspiring and culturally vibrant ceremony held at the House of Lords on Friday.

The event, co-hosted by the British Asian Who’s Who Awards and the 10 Million Meal Appeal, brought together an esteemed gathering of South Asian leaders, philanthropists, business figures, and changemakers from across the UK and beyond. It served both as a tribute to women’s empowerment and a rallying call for collective action to combat global hunger through community-driven philanthropy.

Bollywood legend and UN Goodwill Ambassador Manisha Koirala graced the occasion as the chief guest and keynote speaker, captivating the audience with a powerful personal address. Reflecting on her journey from surviving cancer to her recent critically acclaimed performance in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Koirala said:

“To be part of a mission that unites the fight against hunger with the empowerment of women is truly meaningful. Mr. Atta Ul Haq’s appointment brings renewed energy to our shared cause. I look forward to working alongside him in service of humanity.”

Atta Ul Haq, whose extensive work in community welfare, youth mobilization, and social cohesion has earned widespread recognition, received strong endorsement from guests and speakers. His appointment marks a proud moment for the British Pakistani diaspora and the wider humanitarian community.

In his inaugural remarks as Brand Ambassador, Haq stated that “Food is a basic human right. Feeding those in need, especially within our own communities, is not just an act of charity—it is a moral duty that fosters peace and sets an example for future generations.”
He pledged to expand the 10 Million Meal Project’s reach across the UK and South Asia, build sustainable partnerships, and engage youth in meaningful service.

Founder of the 10 Million Meal Appeal, Sujan Kutwal, welcomed the appointment with heartfelt appreciation:

“It is a true honour that Mr. Atta Ul Haq has accepted this role. His unwavering dedication and drive have already made a meaningful impact. We are confident that his leadership will take this mission to new heights.”

Kutwal was also recognised during the event for his pioneering vision in launching the initiative, which has provided millions of meals globally with dignity and compassion.

The evening featured notable speakers who lent their support to the campaign, including Miss Bhawana Basnet, Panas Charity, Dr. Shahzad Qureshi, philanthropist, Ashraf Nehal, Commonwealth Youth Climate Envoy, Smita Tharoor, motivational speaker, Asim Yousaf, CEO, Top Star Entertainment, Virendra Sharma, former MP and Patron, Labour Asians Society and Lord Rami Ranger, industrialist and parliamentarian.

All expressed admiration for the initiative and praised Haq’s appointment as a catalyst for expanding its humanitarian footprint.

In what was widely seen as a night of unity, inspiration, and renewed commitment, the event not only spotlighted the resilience of women changemakers but also marked a bold new chapter for the 10 Million Meal Project. With Atta Ul Haq now at the forefront as Brand Ambassador, the campaign is poised to grow in reach and impact—mobilizing compassion, inspiring action, and nourishing lives across borders.
