Lahore, August 7, 2025: Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali has been placed under provisional suspension by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following confirmation of a criminal investigation launched by Greater Manchester Police in the United Kingdom.

The investigation pertains to an incident that allegedly occurred during the Pakistan Shaheens’ ongoing tour of England.

In an official statement issued on Thursday, the PCB said it had been informed of the investigation and confirmed it is extending legal support to the player. The board emphasized that it fully respects the UK’s legal procedures and is committed to upholding due process.

“Haider Ali has received appropriate legal support to protect his rights throughout this process,” the PCB said.

The suspension, which takes immediate effect, will remain in place until the conclusion of the investigation. The board stated that once legal proceedings are complete and all facts are established, it will consider taking appropriate action under its Code of Conduct, if necessary.

The PCB also clarified that no further comments would be made on the matter until the legal process has concluded.
