Islamabad, August 11, 2025: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), through its Quality Control Directorate, has launched a major operation against fake pharmaceutical companies, declaring both the firms and their medicines counterfeit and unfit for human use.

According to an official circular issued by DRAP, the companies identified as fake include Fegga Pharmaceutical, Karachi; Adcok Pharmaceuticals, Lahore; Alpine Laboratories, Karachi; and Himax Pharmaceutical, Karachi.

The counterfeit medicines flagged by DRAP include Missrone Tablets (Fegga Pharmaceutical), Quttefol OD Tablets (Adcok Pharmaceuticals), Depasrone Tablets (Alpine Laboratories), and Dropha Tablets (Himax Pharmaceutical).

The Drug, Water and Food Testing Laboratory in Gilgit-Baltistan tested samples of these medicines and declared them fake and hazardous. Following this, DRAP’s task force investigated further and found that the companies themselves were fraudulent, possessing neither licenses from the authority nor registration for any medicines.

In light of these findings, DRAP has directed all relevant institutions, hospitals, and pharmacies to identify and remove these products immediately to protect the public from potential health risks.
