Lahore, August 16, 2025: Pakistan Shaheens have been dealt an injury setback after fast bowler Ahmed Daniyal was ruled out of the ongoing Top End T20 Series in Darwin, Australia.

According to team sources, the 28-year-old pacer sustained a right thumb injury while fielding ahead of the tournament, which kept him out of the opening fixtures against Bangladesh ‘A’ and Perth Scorchers. Following medical assessment, Daniyal has been sidelined for the remainder of the 11-team competition.

Team management is currently considering sending a replacement to Australia. Daniyal had also been under consideration for the upcoming T20I tri-series involving Pakistan, Afghanistan, and hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE), scheduled from August 29 to September 7.

The Shaheens have so far registered a mixed start to their campaign — securing a commanding 79-run win over Bangladesh ‘A’ before narrowly losing to Perth Scorchers by two wickets. Their next match is against Melbourne Renegades at the TIO Stadium on Monday.
