Darwin, August 18, 2025: Pakistan Shaheens secured their second win in the Top End T20 Series with a commanding 74-run victory over Melbourne Renegades at TIO Stadium on Monday, thanks to a brilliant century from Abdul Samad and a clinical bowling display led by Maaz Sadaqat.

Batting first, the Shaheens were rocked early at 2-2 inside two overs after Yasir Khan and Khawaja Nafay fell for ducks. Abdul Samad then staged a remarkable recovery, first sharing a 32-run stand with Mohammad Faiq (21) and later forging a match-turning 100-run partnership with captain Irfan Khan (23).

Samad dominated the innings with an unbeaten 110 off 63 balls, laced with six fours and six sixes, lifting the Shaheens to 179-5.

In reply, the Renegades crumbled under relentless pressure. Ubaid Shah struck early before Maaz Sadaqat ripped through the top order, dismissing Jai Lemire (2) and Dylan Brasher (3) to leave the visitors reeling at 25-3.

Opener Joshua Brown offered resistance with 36 off 30 balls, but wickets kept tumbling. Faisal Akram (2-15), Saad Masood, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Mubassir Khan, and Ubaid Shah each struck, while Sadaqat finished with superb figures of 3-22. The Renegades were eventually bowled out for 105 in 19.2 overs.

Samad’s explosive ton and Sadaqat’s all-round heroics ensured the Shaheens’ dominant 74-run win, strengthening their position in the tournament.
