Lahore, September 6, 2025: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday unveiled the schedule for South Africa’s all-format tour of Pakistan, which begins on October 12 and marks the start of Pakistan’s ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 campaign.

The tour will open with a two-Test series against the reigning World Test Champions. The first Test will be staged at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from October 12 to 16, followed by the second Test in Rawalpindi from October 20 to 24. This will be South Africa’s first Test series in Pakistan since their 2-0 defeat in January 2021.

The red-ball fixtures will be followed by three T20 Internationals (T20Is) from October 28 to November 1. The first T20I will be played in Rawalpindi, with the remaining two at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

The tour will conclude with a three-match ODI series in Faisalabad from November 4 to 8 — a landmark return of international cricket to the city after 17 years. Iqbal Stadium last hosted an ODI on April 11, 2008, when Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Syed Sumair Ahmed expressed his delight at the announcement, calling it a “special moment” for Pakistan cricket.

“We are looking forward to welcoming South Africa for the opening series of our ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 campaign. Starting the new cycle against the current Test champions will provide quality cricket for our players and fans,” he said.
“The return of ODI cricket to Faisalabad after 17 years is a proud moment. Iqbal Stadium holds a rich place in our history, and bringing international cricket back here is exciting for fans across the region.”
