Dubai, September 12, 2025: Pakistan produced a commanding all-round performance to thump Oman by 93 runs in their Asia Cup debut clash, with Mohammad Haris’s maiden T20I half-century setting up victory in the fourth match of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan posted a competitive 160 for 7 despite a shaky start. Haris anchored the innings with a fluent 66 off 43 balls — laced with seven fours and three sixes — and added a crucial 85-run stand with Sahibzada Farhan (29) for the second wicket. Brief contributions from Fakhar Zaman (23 off 16)* and Mohammad Nawaz (19 off 10) pushed the total past the 160 mark.
Oman’s bowlers fought back through Aamir Kaleem (3/27) and Faisal (3/34), but their efforts were undone by a brittle batting response.
Chasing 161, Oman crumbled to 67 all out in 16.4 overs, with only Hammad Mirza (27 off 23) showing resistance. Apart from Mirza, only Aamir Kaleem (13) and Shakeel Ahmed (10) managed double figures.
Pakistan’s bowlers shared the spoils in a ruthless display: Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem and Faheem Ashraf bagged two wickets each, while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with one apiece.
The emphatic win consolidated Pakistan’s strong start to the Asia Cup, while Oman endured a chastening defeat in their maiden appearance at the continental event.
