Abu Dhabi, September 23, 2025: Pakistan captain has won the toss and elected to bowl first against Sri Lanka in the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 Super Four encounter at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

This will be the 24th T20 International between the two sides. Pakistan currently lead the head-to-head tally with 13 wins, while Sri Lanka have prevailed 10 times. However, in Asia Cup T20 encounters, Sri Lanka hold the edge, winning two of the three meetings — including their victory in the 2022 final.

Recent form also favours the islanders, who are unbeaten in their last five T20I clashes against Pakistan.

Both teams enter today’s must-win contest under pressure after losing their opening Super Four matches. Sri Lanka fell to Bangladesh by four wickets on Saturday, while Pakistan were outplayed by arch-rivals India in a six-wicket defeat the following day.

As a result, Pakistan sit at the bottom of the Super Four standings with a lower net run rate than third-placed Sri Lanka, making today’s fixture crucial for both sides in their bid to stay alive in the tournament.
