Sharm El-Sheikh, October 13, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday held a series of high-level meetings with global leaders on the sidelines of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, reaffirming Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to peace in the Middle East and solidarity with the people of Palestine.

In a landmark trilateral meeting, the prime minister met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The three leaders expressed satisfaction over the recent ceasefire in Gaza, marking a rare display of convergence between the two Caucasus nations and signaling a broader international resolve toward de-escalation in the region.

Prime Minister Sharif also held bilateral meetings with King Abdullah II of Jordan, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During the interactions, the prime minister underscored the urgent need for coordinated international efforts to restore peace and stability in the Middle East. He reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on the Palestinian issue, emphasizing Islamabad’s unwavering diplomatic and moral support for the Palestinian people.

“Our position is rooted in justice and humanity,” he said. “Pakistan will continue to stand by the Palestinian cause and support all peaceful initiatives aimed at ending violence and ensuring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”

The discussions also focused on strengthening multilateral cooperation, promoting regional dialogue, and pursuing lasting solutions to long-standing conflicts.
