Rawalpindi, October 22, 2025: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday once again issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, in connection with the party’s protest held on November 26 last year.

ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah issued the warrants for the fourth time after Aleema failed to appear despite multiple summons. The court also forfeited her surety bonds worth Rs100,000 to the state and issued a show-cause notice to her guarantor, Umar Sharif, directing him to submit a reply by October 24.

The judge further directed Aleema to furnish two new surety bonds of Rs1 million each.

The court expressed displeasure over the conduct of police officials, issuing show-cause notices to SP Rao Saad and DSP Naeem for contempt of court, terming their reports on Aleema’s alleged disappearance as “bogus.” Both officers were summoned to appear on October 24.

Judge Shah questioned how Aleema could be in hiding while her statements to the media outside Adiala Jail continued to be broadcast, before adjourning the hearing until October 24.

In a related development, Judge Amjad Ali Shah also directed all accused in the GHQ attack case to appear at the next hearing. PTI founder Imran Khan marked his attendance in jail.

Three police sub-inspectors summoned as witnesses failed to appear, with a police report stating they were on security duty at the cricket stadium. The court subsequently adjourned proceedings until November 5 and ordered that the next hearing be conducted inside Adiala Jail.

The court also issued notices to the three witnesses to ensure their presence at the jail hearing. Former interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed appeared during the proceedings and left afterward.
