Karachi, October 22, 2025: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday announced plans to hold a “massive public rally” in Karachi in November to formally launch a nationwide public engagement campaign.

According to a press release, the decision was made during PTI Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja’s visit to Karachi, where he met party leaders, including PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, Parliamentary Leader Shabbir Qureshi, and Jamal Siddiqui.

During the meetings, Raja held detailed discussions on the prevailing political situation, the strategy for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, and other organisational matters.

Addressing the media after the meetings, Raja said the Karachi rally would be followed by similar gatherings in Hyderabad and other major cities as part of the broader mobilisation drive.

“The party stands united and determined for Imran Khan’s release,” Raja asserted, adding that the recent appointments of Mahmood Khan Achakzai as opposition leader in the National Assembly, Raja Nasir Abbas in the Senate, and Sohail Afridi as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister symbolised “a wave of political renewal within PTI.”

Reaffirming the party’s commitment to constitutional supremacy and the rule of law, Raja said: “All fabricated cases against Imran Khan are collapsing in courts. Despite delaying tactics, truth and justice will ultimately prevail.”

He quoted the PTI founder as urging supporters to “keep faith in Allah Almighty” and to continue peaceful mobilisation “against oppression and injustice” through rallies across the country.

Expressing concern over the situation in Sindh, Raja criticised the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government, claiming it had “turned Sindh into ruins over the last 17 years.” He said rampant corruption, poor governance, and lawlessness had left citizens in despair.

“Wherever we went, we witnessed overwhelming support for Imran Khan,” Raja said. “The people of Sindh want change — they want a leader who is honest, brave, and dedicated to the nation.”

Imran Khan, imprisoned since August 2023, is serving a sentence at Adiala Jail in a £190 million corruption case and faces multiple pending trials under the Anti-Terrorism Act in connection with the May 9 protests.

The PTI has repeatedly raised concerns about restrictions on access to its incarcerated founder and alleged attempts to move him to an undisclosed location. The party also claimed last week that Imran had offered to help mediate Pakistan’s tensions with Afghanistan if released on parole.
