Amman, October 27, 2025: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday to discuss ways to enhance defence and security cooperation and to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II also attended the meeting.

Field Marshal Munir conveyed the best wishes of the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan to King Abdullah II, reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to further strengthening its brotherly ties with Jordan.

King Abdullah II lauded the professionalism and discipline of the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging their role in promoting regional peace and stability. He also expressed a desire to expand defence and security collaboration between the two nations.

During his visit, Field Marshal Munir also held talks with Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hnaity, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, at the General Headquarters in Amman.

Upon arrival, the Pakistani Army Chief was accorded a warm welcome and presented with a guard of honour by a contingent of the Jordanian armed forces.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening historic military ties and discussed new avenues of cooperation in training, counterterrorism, and defence collaboration.

According to ISPR, the visit marks the beginning of a new chapter in Pakistan–Jordan defence relations.
