Rawalpindi, November 14, 2025: Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second one-day international (ODI) against Sri Lanka at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Friday, but the hosts were dealt a setback as their ODI captain Shaheen Afridi was ruled out due to illness.

Shaheen, who is suffering from the flu, was replaced in the lineup along with all-rounder Faheem Ashraf. “Shaheen is unwell, and Faheem also misses out. Abrar Ahmed and Wasim Jr come in,” stand-in captain Salman Ali Agha said during the toss.

The game, originally scheduled for Thursday, was pushed back by a day after concerns arose following Tuesday’s suicide bombing outside the district and sessions court in Islamabad, which left 12 people martyred and 36 injured. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) later confirmed that the tour would continue after receiving security assurances. The series finale will now also take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on November 16.
