Muzaffarabad, November 18, 2025: Newly elected Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore took the oath of office on Tuesday during a ceremony held at the President’s House.

Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar administered the oath, with a large number of dignitaries in attendance, including the governors of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Faryal Talpur, members of the AJK Legislative Assembly, senior civil officials, and military leadership.

Rathore, who now becomes the 16th Prime Minister of AJK, expressed gratitude to PPP leaders Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur, and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari for placing their trust in him.

In his remarks, the new prime minister paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for its sacrifices in safeguarding the country, and said the PPP remained committed to reconnecting with the public and serving the people of AJK.
