Islamabad, November 19, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that Pakistan’s continued hosting of international cricket events was a testament to the country’s improving image, as well as its growing peace and stability.

The premier made the remarks while hosting a luncheon at the Prime Minister’s House in honour of the Pakistan, Sri Lankan, and Zimbabwean cricket teams participating in the ongoing Tri-Nation Series.

Commending the passion and discipline displayed by all three squads, the prime minister said the players were representing their nations with exemplary dedication. He urged them to maintain sportsmanship and mutual respect, noting that their conduct on and off the field served as an inspiration for the younger generation.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Rear Admiral Fred Seniviratne, and Zimbabwean High Commissioner Titus Abu Basutu also attended the luncheon.

The prime minister praised PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for leading the cricket board with “excellent arrangements, effective strategy and high professional standards,” ensuring the series was conducted smoothly.

Shehbaz Sharif said the Tri-Nation Series was delivering top-quality cricket and expressed hope that the tournament would strengthen bonds of friendship and cooperation among the three countries. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its tradition of hosting international teams in the future.
