Lahore, December 2, 2025: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday confirmed the schedule for Pakistan’s tour to Sri Lanka in January 2026, which will feature a three-match T20I series as part of preparations for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

All three matches are set to be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS) in Dambulla on January 7, 9, and 11, the PCB said in a statement. The series is expected to provide Pakistan’s national team valuable match practice ahead of the global tournament.

Pakistan have been drawn in Group A for the T20 World Cup, with all group-stage matches scheduled in Colombo. The mega-event, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, will run from February 7 to March 8, 2026.

The announcement comes after a highly successful 2025 cricket season for Pakistan. The men in green wrapped up the year with home series victories against South Africa and Sri Lanka.

In October, Pakistan hosted South Africa for a three-match T20I and ODI series, winning both series 2-1.

They then faced Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, sweeping the series 3-0, before participating in a T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, which Pakistan won.

During the packed home calendar, Pakistan lost only three matches — one ODI and two T20Is — while claiming victories in all four series.

Following the conclusion of the home season, the national team will enjoy a month-long break. After the Sri Lanka tour, Pakistan is expected to host Australia for a T20I series, which will conclude shortly before the T20 World Cup begins.
