Islamabad, December 10,2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that Pakistan cannot progress unless an atmosphere of national unity is established, warning that mocking the sacrifices of the armed forces undermines the country’s dignity.

Addressing the Qaumi Ulema Convention in Islamabad, the prime minister said that nations do not develop through superstition or “magic tricks” but through hard work and collective effort.

He praised the Pakistan Army for fighting the war with courage and bravery, saying the conflict was led by the Field Marshal and resulted in a humiliating defeat for the enemy due to the valour of the armed forces.

The prime minister stressed that national unity was essential for development and called for an end to sectarianism in the country. He regretted that even today some followers of different schools of thought refuse to offer prayers behind one another in certain mosques.

Referring to “Marka-e-haq,” Shehbaz Sharif said the nation achieved a great victory and that the prayers of the people were accepted. He added that every soldier of the armed forces played an extraordinary role in the campaign. He specifically commended Field Marshal Asim Munir for courageously leading the war against India, once again crediting the armed forces for inflicting a decisive defeat on the enemy.

The prime minister said Pakistan’s economy was now moving rapidly towards growth, adding that both political and military leadership played a crucial role in saving the country from bankruptcy.

He also expressed concern over ongoing militant violence, stating that innocent Pakistanis were being martyred in attacks carried out by khawarij elements.
