Islamabad, December 25, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM) on Wednesday said that the coinciding observance of the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the celebration of Christmas reflects Pakistan’s inclusive vision and strong moral foundations.

In his message, the DPM/FM said that as the nation commemorates the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Father of the Nation, and celebrates the joyous festival of Christmas with Christian communities around the world, the shared occasion highlights the principles of equality, pluralism, and respect for all faiths upon which Pakistan was established.

Paying tribute to Quaid-e-Azam, he described him as not only the architect of Pakistan’s independence but also a statesman of unwavering principles and exceptional clarity of thought. He said Quaid-e-Azam envisioned Pakistan as a democratic state grounded in equality, pluralism, and respect for the fundamental rights of all citizens, without distinction of religion, race, or ethnicity.

Recalling Quaid-e-Azam’s historic address of August 11, 1947, the DPM/FM noted that the founder of the nation categorically affirmed that the state would make no distinction between one citizen and another. He added that Pakistan’s commitment to protecting minority rights, equality, and religious freedom remains a cornerstone of the Constitution and the country’s national ethos.

The DPM/FM extended warm Christmas greetings to the Christian community and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to religious freedom, equality, and pluralism, as envisioned by the founding fathers and enshrined in the Constitution. He acknowledged the invaluable contributions of Christian citizens to Pakistan’s development, particularly in education, healthcare, public service, and national defense, noting their dedication, patriotism, and honorable service to the nation.

Highlighting the spirit of Christmas, he said the festival embodies universal values of peace, compassion, sacrifice, and love for humanity—values that deeply resonate with Islamic teachings and the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam.

At a time when the world is facing increasing polarization and intolerance, the DPM/FM said Pakistan continues to reaffirm its commitment to pluralism, interfaith harmony, and peaceful coexistence, adding that the country’s diversity is a source of pride and strength.

Concluding his message, he urged the nation to carry forward Quaid-e-Azam’s message of peace and goodwill, today and always, while extending heartfelt Christmas greetings to Christians around the world and paying deep tribute to the legacy of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
