Islamabad, December 28, 2025: Dr. Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital (ANTH), in collaboration with the Lions Clubs of Rawalpindi–Islamabad and Bardasht Pakistan, organized a Mega Medical Camp on Sunday at the Syeda Hafeeza Begum Welfare Complex in Tarnol, aimed at improving access to essential healthcare services and promoting disease prevention among underserved communities.
More than 1,500 individuals benefited from the camp, including a large number of women, elderly citizens, and children. Beneficiaries expressed relief and gratitude at receiving medical consultations, diagnostic services, and medicines under one roof, noting that such initiatives significantly reduce healthcare costs and encourage early consultation for ongoing health issues.
The camp offered medical consultations across a wide range of specialties, including pediatrics, gynecology, psychiatry, urology, cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, nephrology, dermatology, physical therapy, as well as dental and eye care. Diagnostic and screening services such as ECG, bone density tests, BMI assessments, blood sugar testing, and blood pressure monitoring were also provided. Medicines were distributed by ANTH and Bardasht Pakistan to ensure comprehensive care for all patients.
Lions Clubs District Governor 305 N2, Pakistan, Dr. Arif Masood attended the camp as chief guest and lauded the initiative, emphasizing the importance of community-based healthcare programs in strengthening preventive care and enabling early diagnosis, especially for populations with limited access to medical facilities.
Ms. Nilofar Bakhtiar, Patron-in-Chief of Bardasht Pakistan and former senator and federal minister, thanked Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital and the Lions Clubs for their collaboration. She said such joint efforts play a crucial role in bridging healthcare gaps and raising public awareness about health and wellness.
Group CEO of GAK HealthCare International and ANTH, Mr. Yasir Khan Niazi, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to community welfare, stressing the need to extend quality healthcare services beyond hospital settings through sustained outreach and preventive health initiatives.
The dignitaries, along with President of Bardasht Pakistan Dr. Zubair Hasan, toured the camp, interacted with healthcare professionals and patients, and reviewed the services being provided. Organizers said the primary objective of the Mega Medical Camp was not only to deliver essential medical support but also to promote healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare practices. Local residents widely appreciated the initiative, describing it as timely, reassuring, and impactful.
