Islamabad, December 30, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday received Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Ambassador Asim briefed the deputy prime minister on the Pakistan Mission’s ongoing engagements in New York, with particular focus on deliberations at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and other UN bodies. He highlighted the mission’s sustained efforts to effectively project Pakistan’s key foreign policy priorities at multilateral fora, including the issues of Jammu and Kashmir and the Palestinian cause.
The deputy prime minister and foreign minister underscored the central role of the United Nations and multilateral institutions in promoting global peace and security, as well as advancing economic development. He appreciated the mission’s work in articulating Pakistan’s positions on important regional and international issues at the UN.
