Malaysian High Commissioner condoles passing of Begum Khaleda Zia at Bangladesh High Commission

Islamabad, January 5, 2026: His Excellency Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, on Monday visited the High Commission of Bangladesh in Islamabad to offer condolences on behalf of the Government of Malaysia following the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

During the visit, the Malaysian High Commissioner conveyed his deepest sympathies to Begum Khaleda Zia’s family, the Government of Bangladesh, and the people of Bangladesh, expressing solidarity with them during this period of profound loss.

He paid tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia’s contributions to Bangladesh’s political landscape, describing her as a leader who dedicated her life to public service and played a significant role in shaping her country’s national life.

The High Commissioner said Malaysia stands with Bangladesh in honoring the legacy of Begum Khaleda Zia, adding that her contributions would continue to be remembered and serve as an inspiration for future generations. He also offered prayers for the departed soul, wishing her eternal peace.
