Islamabad, January 6, 2026: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, on Tuesday visited the Parliament Lodges to review the progress of the under-construction project comprising 104 additional Family Suites.
Federal Minister of State for Interior and Senator Talal Chaudhry accompanied the Speaker during the visit and provided a detailed briefing on the status of the project. The Speaker was informed that construction work has entered its final stages.
The project, initially launched in 2011, had remained stalled for several years. It was revived following the special efforts and personal initiative of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, bringing renewed momentum to its completion after a prolonged delay.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker emphasized that the early completion of the project remains his top priority, noting that Members of Parliament are facing serious accommodation issues which can only be addressed through the timely completion of the Family Suites. He directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to ensure high construction standards, maintain strict oversight, and further accelerate the pace of work.
The Speaker made it clear that any further delay or negligence would not be tolerated and stressed the importance of completing the project within the stipulated timeframe.
Senator Talal Chaudhry assured that all available resources would be utilized to ensure the project’s early completion and appreciated the Speaker’s keen interest and continuous follow-up on the matter.
Acting Secretary National Assembly Saeed Ahmed Maitla, Adviser (Law) National Assembly Muhammad Mushtaq, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Interior and the CDA, were also present during the visit.
