Fateh Jang, January 8, 2026: In a decisive move to safeguard public health and improve civic order, Price Control Magistrate Fateh Jang, Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood, on Thursday conducted surprise inspections at multiple locations across the city, resulting in strict action against violators.
During inspections in central areas of Fateh Jang, the magistrate’s team found extremely unhygienic conditions and the preparation and sale of substandard food at Mehriya Hotel and a local tuck shop. Acting on the spot, Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood ordered both establishments to be sealed and had their owners and managers arrested for violating public health regulations.
In a separate operation on Kohat Road, an inspection of New Life Pharmacy uncovered expired and non-standard medicines. The pharmacy was immediately sealed to prevent further risk to public health.
Authorities also launched a crackdown against illegal rickshaw stands operating within the city. Several rickshaws were impounded as part of efforts to ease traffic congestion and address persistent public complaints.
Residents widely welcomed the enforcement actions, describing them as timely and necessary. Citizens expressed confidence that such measures would significantly help improve public health standards, cleanliness and traffic management in the area.
Officials noted that Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood has consistently maintained a firm stance against illegal profiteering, hoarding and organised mafias, and continues to pursue uncompromising enforcement in the public interest.
