Lahore, January 26,2026: Federal Interior Minister and Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi met the Chinese Consul General in Lahore, Zhao Shiren, and paid tribute to his services, extending best wishes for his future endeavors.

During the meeting, Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren praised Mohsin Naqvi’s dynamic leadership and acknowledged his remarkable pace of work. He said Mohsin Naqvi has played a significant role in further strengthening Pakistan–China bilateral relations. Zhao Shiren noted that whether as Chief Minister Punjab or now as Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi has made extraordinary efforts to deepen the long-standing friendship between the two countries. He also described his tenure in Pakistan as extremely pleasant and memorable.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said he shares a brotherly relationship with Zhao Shiren, which will continue in the future as well. He added that the Chinese diplomat’s absence in Lahore will be deeply felt.

He said bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest is progressing positively and added that he is scheduled to visit China again in September, where he will meet his “brother” Zhao Shiren.

As a gesture of goodwill, Mohsin Naqvi presented Zhao Shiren with a bat signed by Pakistani cricket players. In return, the Chinese Consul General gifted Mohsin Naqvi a book authored by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
