Islamabad, February 5, 2026: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong at the Ministry of Interior, where both sides discussed counter-terrorism, internal security, and bilateral security cooperation.
Upon arrival, the Chinese envoy was welcomed by the interior minister. Ambassador Jiang condemned the recent terrorist attacks targeting civilians and security forces in Balochistan, expressing heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the affected families. He stated that China stands in complete solidarity with the victims and condemns terrorism in all its forms, reaffirming Beijing’s firm support for Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
Interior Minister Naqvi said the incidents in Balochistan were carried out under what he described as an organized and premeditated plan, adding that security forces responded in a timely and effective manner. He briefed the ambassador on the operations conducted in the province and outlined measures taken to ensure the protection of Chinese citizens and projects in Pakistan.
Emphasizing the importance of bilateral ties, Naqvi said the safety of Chinese nationals and investments remains a top priority and asserted that no adversary can undermine Pakistan–China friendship. He also announced that a Special Protection Unit is being established to further strengthen security arrangements for Chinese nationals, noting that modern Chinese technology and equipment would support coordinated counter-terrorism efforts.
The interior minister also briefed the ambassador on his recent visit to China. During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in intelligence sharing and cybercrime prevention, reaffirming their resolve to further strengthen the Pakistan–China strategic partnership.
Ambassador Jiang thanked Pakistan for the security measures taken to safeguard Chinese nationals, while Naqvi expressed gratitude for China’s consistent support for Pakistan.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Interior Secretary, Special Secretary Interior, and senior officials from the Chinese Embassy were also present at the meeting.
