Abu Dhabi, February 10, 2026: Pakistan Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani held a productive meeting with Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the United Arab Emirates’ Federal National Council (FNC), in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant step toward further strengthening longstanding bilateral relations.

The meeting, followed by a cordial luncheon, provided an opportunity for both leaders to reflect on the history of Pakistan-UAE ties and explore new avenues for cooperation. They reaffirmed the strong bonds of friendship rooted in shared values, mutual respect, and a tradition of close collaboration.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved in recent years, particularly in trade, investment, and people-to-people connections. Gilani thanked the UAE leadership for its warm hospitality and acknowledged the country’s contributions to Pakistan’s economic stability, including a $10 billion investment commitment.

The Senate chairman also invited Speaker Ghobash to visit Pakistan, an invitation that was graciously accepted. “We are delighted to accept the invitation and look forward to visiting Pakistan soon,” Ghobash said, noting that the trip would help further strengthen parliamentary ties and identify new areas of cooperation.

The discussions highlighted a shared commitment to enhancing collaboration in parliamentary diplomacy, trade, and investment. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments, emphasizing the importance of promoting peace, stability, and prosperity.

The visit is seen as reinforcing the enduring partnership between Pakistan and the UAE, with both countries expressing optimism for continued cooperation in the years ahead.
