New York, February 12,2026: President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Tufan Erhürman, met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at UN Headquarters to discuss regional developments, with particular focus on the Cyprus issue.

During the bilateral meeting, both sides exchanged views on the latest developments in the region. President Erhürman outlined his previously announced four-point methodology for advancing the settlement process and provided an update on recent progress related to confidence-building measures.

He also reiterated his longstanding stance that the isolation imposed on the Turkish Cypriot people is unjust and unlawful, urging that it be lifted without further delay.
