Islamabad, February 16, 2026: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal will represent Pakistan at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, scheduled to be held on February 17, 2026, in Dhaka.

According to a press release issued by the Foreign Office, the minister will attend the ceremony on behalf of Pakistan, as Prime Minister will be unable to participate due to a prior overseas engagement.

Pakistan’s representation at the event reflects its support for Bangladesh’s democratic process and underscores Islamabad’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations. The participation also highlights Pakistan’s desire to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Bangladesh across political, economic, and regional dimensions.
