Copenhagen, February 16, 2026: Former caretaker prime minister and Senator Anwar ul Haq Kakar visited Copenhagen from February 11 to 15 as part of his Scandinavian outreach aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s engagement with Nordic countries.

During the visit, Senator Kakar held meetings with Danish parliamentarians, officials from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, business leaders, and members of the Pakistani diaspora. He also shared Pakistan’s perspectives through interviews with leading Danish newspapers, including Solidaritet, Arbejderen, and Kristeligt Dagblad.

As part of the economic component of the visit, Senator Kakar met the senior leadership of Maersk and FLSmidth, focusing on enhancing bilateral economic cooperation and exploring new investment opportunities. He also visited the Amager Resource Center (CopenHill), a landmark project showcasing Denmark’s advanced waste-to-energy and sustainability solutions.

The visit contributed to further strengthening Pakistan–Denmark relations and helped promote Pakistan’s views on regional stability, sustainable development, and mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
