Karachi, February 18, 2026: The Directorate of Drug Control of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), in collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), conducted a joint operation against illegal pharmaceutical manufacturing in Karachi’s SITE area.
According to officials, the raid was carried out near Ahsanabad in SITE II with the assistance of the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle, Karachi, at an unlicensed manufacturing premises. During the operation, authorities recovered a huge quantity of different Tramadol tablets in strengths of 225mg and 250mg, along with raw materials, packing materials and a large stock of finished goods.
Officials said that various pharmaceutical manufacturing machines were also found installed at the site, including mixers, dryers, compression machines, coating pans, blister machines and other related tools, indicating large-scale illegal production.
All recovered materials and machinery were ordered not to be disposed of. Samples of the seized products were taken for further laboratory testing, while records of some sales of finished goods were obtained on Form-II for investigation purposes.
Authorities confirmed that three main individuals involved in the illegal operation have been booked, and further investigation is currently under way to determine the scale of the network and possible links to wider distribution channels.
