Islamabad, February 20, 2026: The Ambassador of Algeria to Pakistan, Dr. Ibrahim Ramani, paid a visit to Jamil Ahmed Qureshi, Secretary General of the Special Council for Investment Facilitation (SIFC), which is chaired by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
During the meeting, Ambassador Ramani briefed the SIFC secretary general on the vast potential of the Algerian economy and highlighted the wide range of opportunities available for partnership and investment. He emphasised Algeria’s growing economic sectors and expressed keen interest in strengthening bilateral economic engagement between the two countries.
Jamil Ahmed Qureshi welcomed the ambassador and praised the strength and diversity of the Algerian economy, describing it as one of Africa’s leading economies. He also appreciated the ambassador’s proposal to enhance cooperation between the SIFC and the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion, aimed at deepening investment ties and fostering long-term partnerships.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of Pakistan and Algeria to expand economic cooperation and explore new avenues for mutual investment and development between the two sister countries.
