Dar congratulate Bangladeshi counterpart, vows to strengthen bilateral ties

Islamabad, February 22, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Khalil ur Rehman, congratulating him on his recent appointment as Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan said on Saturday.

According to an official statement issued by the Office of the Spokesperson, the two leaders expressed a strong desire to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, guided by a shared vision of peace, stability, and prosperity.

During the conversation, both sides agreed to expand cooperation across a wide range of sectors and to work closely in multilateral forums. They emphasized the importance of building a forward-looking partnership that delivers tangible benefits for the peoples of both countries.

The call reflected the mutual commitment of Islamabad and Dhaka to deepen engagement and enhance collaboration at regional and international levels, the statement added.
