Beijing, February 23,2026: Recently, New Zealand, Australia, Chile, and several countries held diverse activities to celebrate the Chinese New Year. A special show to mark the date was held at the Wellington Opera House. Professional performers have sent heartfelt greetings through spectacular performances to Chinese in New Zealand and foreigners who are interested in Chinese culture.
City Mayor Andrew Little recalled that 2026 is the Year of the Horse according to the Chinese horoscope, a symbol of vitality and energy, two admirable characteristics his city is pursuing.
A special activity Lunar Sea and Happy Chinese New Year Celebrations took place at the National Maritime Museum of Australia in Sydney. The local audience enjoyed the Chinese performances and customs, stating it was a wonderful experience.
On the night of the 21st, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra collaborated with various artists from China to present local audiences a symphonic concert that integrates Chinese and Western cultures, celebrating the Chinese New Year together.
A fair with presentations by Chinese and Chilean artists and handicraft and calligraphy experience stands was held in Santiago, Chile, drawing a large audience that faced long lines.
