Islamabad, February 26, 2026: Representatives from 11 religious communities across Pakistan gathered at the British High Commission Islamabad for a special interfaith Iftar aimed at celebrating the country’s rich religious diversity and promoting inclusion.

Faith leaders from Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and other communities attended the event, sharing a meal and engaging in discussions focused on mutual respect, understanding and equal participation for all citizens.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, underscored the symbolic importance of unity and inclusion in her remarks.

“The white in Pakistan’s flag is not decorative: it represents a commitment to dignity and equal belonging. Events like this bring us together around empathy, connection, and a reminder that difference is not a barrier but a strength,” she said.

The Iftar forms part of the High Commission’s broader efforts to foster interfaith dialogue, strengthen community ties and support equal rights and opportunities for people of all backgrounds across Pakistan.
